How Zino was born
In the summer of 2018 Massimo and his wife Paola, on their return from a holiday in Pantelleria (Sicily), are bewitched by the scents, colors and flavors of the island. They then decide to recover one hectare of vineyard that hosts more than 60-year-old Moscato di Alessandria vines. After a year of pruning and maintenance of the vineyard, in 2019 we collected the grapes from the island, we took them to the cellar in Suvereto to make wine and understand the expression of the territory of the island of Pantelleria.
A wine with a Mediterranean soul
Zino means Gift of Zeus.
When we embarked on this project we had no idea what would come out of the bottle. We did not know the vineyard, nor were we familiar with the territory. And now? Well, not even now actually: for a winemaker it takes years of observation and study of the vineyard to understand it. So we just listen to it and take care of it. We vinify its fruits and we will discover the evolution of wine over the years.
